EarthColor’s Cheryl Kahanec Inducted into Ben Franklin Honor Society

The Ben Franklin Honor Society bestows what is arguably the highest honor in the industry to a handful of printing visionaries every year. Through nomination by their peers, these individuals are recognized for their outstanding service to printing and graphic communications.

This year, EarthColor’s Cheryl Kahanec has been named one of the seven industry leaders by the Ben Franklin Honor Society. Along with the other honorees, she was formally inducted into the Society at a black-tie awards ceremony held in Kansas City, MO, in November.

The Society comprises an elite group of industry leaders who’ve made both significant and lasting contributions to the field. It dates to 2005 and is the consolidation of two established honor societies in the printing industry.

Kahanec is President of EarthColor’s Marketing Solutions Group. She and her team help brands develop comprehensive marketing communications solutions that use digital communications technologies. She has long been regarded as a digital printing expert and is one of the industry’s leading implementers of variable data printing technology.

This award is not the first industry-wide recognition of Kahanec’s leadership qualities and technical expertise. In 2011, she was named one of OutputLinks’ Women of Distinction. She was the recipient of the Naomi Berber Memorial Award from the Printing Industries of America. This special award recognizes a woman in the industry who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the field. In 2006, she was named the Florence Joachim Woman Executive of the Year, and in 2007, she was a recipient of the Luminaire Award. In addition, Kahanec supports the industry through various charitable contributions, such as her involvement with many scholarship funds.

As a leading authority on digital printing, particularly variable data color imaging, Kahanec is a frequent speaker at industry events worldwide. She is considered one of the field’s major implementers of the latest technologies. Through her 35+ years in the industry, she has become the go-to expert for all things related to digital printing.
