When Cheryl Kahanec, the Executive Vice President of EarthDigital, an EarthColor company, was approached by one of the members on the Graphic Communications Scholarship, Award and Career Advancement Foundation to be a keynote speaker at their event, she was not only thrilled about the request but also quickly accepted this incredible opportunity.

The GCSF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial support to New York/New Jersey area students pursuing a career in the Graphic Communications field. They help students by mentoring them, providing available resources, offering internships and scholarships, and increasing the awareness of careers in Graphic Communications. In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must meet the specified criteria below to submit an application online.

As the keynote speaker, Kahanec welcomed the guests and provided an overview on the Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation. Kahanec referred to Nina Wintrinham and Steve Server in her speech; they were industry leaders and mentors to many in the graphic communications field. They possessed a passion for learning and education, and their spirit lives on in the gifts of scholarships in their memory.

The graphics industry has changed and advanced dramatically over the past 500 years. People within the industry should follow trends and technologies that are shaping the industry to what it is today. And newcomers should be prepared to face constant, but rewarding challenges through big technological advancements in the industry.

Kahanec congratulated the parents for raising talented individuals, and congratulated the students on competing and winning their scholarships. She welcomed and thanked them for being a part of the Graphic Communications industry.

EarthColor thanks the GCSF for the opportunity to have one of its team members speak at the event. Cheryl Kahanec was extremely excited about the opportunity to be a keynote speaker and share some insight. Additionally, we thank the GCSF for offering these scholarships, awarding these students and supporting the Graphic Communications industry.
